Volunteer & Precinct Coordinator

About the Position:

The Dallas County Democratic Party is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and talented Volunteer & Precinct Coordinator to manage precinct chair operations and internal volunteer needs. The V&P Coordinator will be the liaison between the party and our network of precinct chairs and volunteers. The ideal applicant has political or campaign experience, works well in a fast-paced environment, and has a commitment to Democratic ideals.

 

The V&P Coordinator will work in close coordination with the Organizing Director and Executive Director. This is a full-time salary position based in Dallas County.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the placement of precinct chairs throughout the county
  • Assist in the recruitment, intake and onboarding of volunteers
  • Train and supervise precinct chairs and volunteers
  • Maintain the community and relationship between the Party and our volunteers and Precinct Chairs
  • Maintain spreadsheets and databases of precinct chairs and volunteers
  • Maintain official list of PCs on Secretary of State website and our party website
  • Oversee implementation of the DCDP Precinct Chair Program
  • Work to develop strong relationships with local stakeholders and constituency groups, including precinct chairs, local grassroots organizations, activists, and ally groups
  • Be a representative of the DCDP policies, including neutrality as directed

 

Qualifications:

  • Exceptionally well organized with strong time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds
  • Flexible, adaptable, solutions-oriented, and has attention to detail
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Comfortable using technology including SMS, social media platforms, and voter databases
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment
  • Strong leader able to inspire, motivate, and train volunteers and staff
  • An independent thinker, self-motivated, problem solver, and team player, with a

commitment to excellence

 

Highly qualified candidates will have:

 

  • Strong speaking, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience with voter database systems, such as NGP-VAN, and Office/Google Suite
  • Ability to collaborate and participate in complex decision-making processes
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and group situation
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish & English

 

Salary: $50,000 per year
