Summer Workshops

As promised by DCDP Chair Carol Donovan, we're rolling out a series of summer workshops as part of our Democratic Leadership Institute. These trainings will better equip you all for the 2018 elections and make you the best activists you can be! All trainings will be taught by experts in their fields, and they are completely free to attend. They will be hosted at the DCDP headquarters - 4209 Parry Ave., Dallas 75223. Make sure to RSVP for each class you plan to attend.

Like a Good Neighbor, Democrats are There:
Volunteer Recruitment/Community Outreach 101

Wednesday, September 20 @ 6:30 PM

As a result of the Trump administration, Americans are more politically engaged than ever. It's our job to harness that energy and get folks involved in efforts to get out the vote in Dallas County. We're targeting new demographics, reaching out to untapped communities, and changing our methods to make 2018 the best voter turnout for Democrats in Dallas' history.

Taught by Terry Bermea, Zulikha Hussein

Treat Yo’ Self:
Self-Care 101

Wednesday September 27 @ 6:30

One of the biggest threats to a successful campaign is volunteer burnout. Activists tend to put campaigns before their own health, sleep schedule, and social life. It’s so important to manage your time well and practice self-care during GOTV. Come get tips/tricks from a certified therapist!

Taught by Clare Buie Chaney

** For those who have attended our past workshops, please fill out this form to tell us which of the classes you'd like to see repeated in the fall and if you have suggestions for new trainings/workshops! We appreciate the feedback!
