Local Democratic Clubs

The following entries are local Democratic clubs of Dallas County. If you know of a club that is missing or has incorrect information, please contact us so we can correct the entry or add it to the calendar. We strive to keep this list as accurate as possible.

The clubs are the bedrock of activism for the Democratic Party. Get involved with your local club to learn about issues in the party or your local area. Clubs can help you become a precinct chair and give you information about local efforts for voter registration or candidate campaigns.

The following people have programs which clubs may wish to hear. Often times, program planners are looking for new presentations. We hope these are of interest to you all.

Professor Bob Franklin

Professor Franklin has made presentations pertaining to the US and Texas Constitutions, the Supreme Court and specifically, Supreme Court decisions, candidates, campaigns and Texas ethics codes to include PAC formation and reporting. He is the PAC treasurer for the North Texas Democratic Women PAC as well as a member of numerous Democratic Clubs. His presentations are informal and inclusive.

Amy Gill
Executive Director

Resolana was developed in the county jail with the help of Sheriff Lupe Lopez. It is a pod within the prison tha builds a safe and empowereing learning community, where women can use their time in custody to acquire skills and resources that will help them take responsibility for their lives and prepare for a positive integration into the lives of their children, families and community.

Deena Graves
Executive Director

Traffick911, which prevents, rescues and restores victims of domestic minor sex trafficking, was named the 2013 Outstanding Organization of the Year by the Fort Worth Commission for Women with commendations by the Fort Worth City Council, mayor and State Senator Wendy Davis. We also have been recognized by Homeland Security as a most-valued partner in this battle to save our American children from sexual slavery.
Traffick911 has identified or rescued multiple victims of this horrific crime and our work has led to multiple felony arrests.

Traffick911's interactive Traps of a Trafficker equips youth and parents to avoid the tricks, traps and lures of traffickers. Traffick911 also speaks to civic and religious groups and in other venues to raise awareness of American children being forced into modern-day slavery.
In addition, Traffick911 has trained thousands of first responders across the country, including Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Police, DPS, local law enforcement, educators, medical personnel, juvenile justice staffs at the county and state level, CPS regional supervisors and caseworkers, DAs, etc. Not only do we receive the highest evaluations, we have documented identifications and rescues out of our trainings.

Judge Jeffrey Rosenfield

Dallas County Criminal Court of Appeals #2

Judge Jeffrey Rosenfield has been Judge of Dallas County Criminal Court of Appeals #2 since 1-1-07. The Court hears Class "A" and Class "B" misdemeanors despite the title of the court. In an attempt to come up with a creative alternative sentencing program for defendants that are not good candidates for probation, Judge Rosenfield refined and utilizes an older program called the "Road and Bridge Program". It is an effective work detail program. Come hear how Judge Rosenfield has instituted this very effective punishment program.

Judge Kristin Wade

I have run an award winning mental health jail diversion program for the last eight years. I am available to to ttalk to clubs about mental health, the treatment of mental health in the Dallas County jail, and trends in Dallas County.
