It Came From The Internet!

The Dallas County Democratic Party's new website makes use of Google Analytics since September 1st, 2009 to track statistics on who visits the site.  This helps us better understand our audience of Internet visitors, and try to make sure the site is most accomodating to them.  In light of the Holiday Season, we thought we would have some fun and share some of the insights that these statistics have provided.

Before the Filing Perid opened in December, the website received on average 150 to 200 unique visitors every day.  Since Filing Period began, the amount of our daily visitors have doubled.  The typical visitor spends 4 minutes and 11 seconds reading our site, and visits an average of 3.4 pages.  45% of all site visitors are new and have not been to the site before.

The top three most visited pages on the website are the Community Calendar, 2010 Primary Candidates, and Our Elected Officials.

97% of all visitors are located in the United States.  Brazil  (0.2%) and England (0.2%) are second and third.

91% of all visitors are located in Texas.  California (1.7%) and New York (1.4%) are second and third.

80% of all Texas visitors are from Dallas County.  Austin (3.9%) and Houston (2.1%) are second and third.

50% of all visitors come from Search Engines.  38% percent of that traffic comes from Google.

82% of all visitors use Windows, and only 12% are Macintosh users.

62% of all visitors use Internet Explorer, and 20% use Firefox.

Only 2% of all visitors still use Dialup rather than a high-speed Internet service.
