Elected in 2006, she has implemented policies consolidating CPS cases, saving Dallas County taxpayers more than $400,000 per year; cut time for contested custody cases from nine months to three months; promoted an amendment to the Dallas County Standing Order to better protect victims of domestic abuse and their pets; has the lowest cost for handling cases among the seven Family Courts; for a two-year time period had the highest rate of disposing of cases according to the Dallas County Judicial Management Reports; provided fair, consistent, and reliable rulings while at the same time maintaining a high level of compassion and respect for litigants in the 301^st District Court.
