Today the three judge Federal Court panel in San Antonio that has been hearing the lawsuit filed by several groups in opposition to the redistricting maps drawn by the highly partisan Republican controlled Texas House and the likewise partisan Texas Senate, released a PROPOSED congressional map (Plan C-220) and also released FINAL interim maps for the Texas House of Representatives (Plan H-302) and the Texas Senate (Plan S-164). Copies of these maps are below.

The litigants on the congressional maps have until Friday to file any complaints about the maps with the court.

The ever partisan Attorney General of Texas has issued statements condemning these maps and is threatening to go to the Supreme Court in his attempt to validate the illegal maps that he is defending. So the possibility does exist that we have not heard the final word on these maps.

The Texas Democratic Party has exposed a glaring omission in the submission of voter data by the Secretary of State to the Department of Justice, and sent a letter to the DOJ showing clearly the omission that hispanics would be hugely impacted by the voter ID law.
